This Summer, the UK has been seeing some incredibly hot and sunny weather, so what better way to spend a weekend than a trip to the seaside.

Below are events you should look out for this Summer:

 

OUTDOOR CINEMA

Every Saturday during August there will be a number of well-known films being screened at the Forum on Elmer Avenue.  Each event is free, so all you need to bring a chair, a blanket and your own food and drink. Fantastic Mr. Fox, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches and Matilda will be shown so suitable for all the family to attend.

 

CHALKWELL PARK FUNFAIR

On Thursday 9th August at 2pm, Chalkwell Park Funfair will be opened by the Mayor and Sir David Amess and will continue to be open daily from Thursday 9th – Saturday 18th August. Entrance is just £1 and children under 1 metre get in completely free. There will be fun and rides for all of the family! All profits will go to Southend Mencap music man project charity.

 

SUMMER FUN DAYS

Every Wednesday during the summer holidays at The Royals Shopping Centre, there will be a different theme fun day which will include games, arts, crafts and dancing with free face painting and surprise guests! Take a look at the giant hot air balloon in the main atrium that will be built around each chosen country.

 

PREHISTORIC BRITAIN

Explore the interesting world of prehistoric Britain at Beecroft Art Gallery! Take a look at early technology, including original and replica hand tools, weapons and a quern stone. Suitable for children age 7 – 11 years and tickets are £5.
