  2. Southend-on-Sea Pier was originally a wooden structure built in 1830. It has been rebuilt several times over recent years.
  3. On May 1915, Southend was a one of the victimsof the World War 1. Bombs were dropped by hand from giant Zeppelins.

  12. Men are banned from bearing their chests at the Adventure Island, the town’s popular theme park. New rules say they need to keep their tops on which is in line American theme parts, where men removing their tops isn’t deemed to be family-friendly.
